Learning Objectives

This program equips you with the knowledge required to control small fires. Training is based on AS3745 and AS4083-2010 “Planning for Emergencies at (Health care) Facilities” and components of PUAWER008A Confine small workplace emergencies (fire).

It considers:

• Preparing for emergencies
• Assessing the situation and determining if it is safe to use first attack equipment
• Selecting the correct portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels or fire blankets
• Operating portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets
• What to do after first attack equipment has been used
